In terms of the transport for example, the location is central and convenient, on a corner of one of the Latin Quarter’s main pedestrianised streets. Because you can walk from here to all the main city centre attractions (including the Round Tower, three minutes away) and the transport hub of Nørreport (five minutes), where the metro station has a direct link to the airport.

ACCOMMODATION at SKT PETRI HOTEL COPENHAGEN

The revamped interiors are the idea of the Norwegian design studio Anemone Wille Våge (also responsible for The Thief in Oslo), who gives, a slightly retro glamour to the rooms. Black wood and smoky shades of blue and old gold combine with the pops of emerald green. On the other hand, one white wall of each room is covered in a distinctive, Moorish-style geometric moulding. Beds are very comfortable and good soundproofing keeps out any city centre noise. You can choose between Standard rooms, Superior, Deluxe, Junior suite, Petri suite or Meadow theme suites.

RESTAURANT AND BAR 

You have several options when it comes to dinner. The lobby restaurant’s menu of hot and cold ‘bites’ includes a particularly fine mini burger and generous helpings of shrimps and lemon mayo piled into lettuce leaf shells. In summer you can sit in the courtyard, with an alfresco cooking station where a chef busily flips dough and feeds sourdough pizzas into the wood-fired oven. There’s also an independently-run street-level restaurant, P eatery, specialising in ‘Nordic Mediterranean cuisine’. Breakfast brings a good hot and cold buffet, with a station offering pancakes and omelettes cooked to order, or the option of heading to P eatery for à la carte dishes and table service.
