Introduction to Corvara and Alta Badia
Corvara in Italy, the ski paradise at the heart of the Sella Ronda circuit, offers many possibilities for winter sports fans. Firstly, you can choose between carving, snowboarding, cross-country skiing and more. Secondly, you must know the 6 destinations of the valley: Corvara, Colfosco, La Villa, San Cassiano, Pedraces and La Val. These are connected by free ski pass bus.
The Alta Badia region is an integral part of the Dolomiti Superski Carousel, with 1220 km of slopes and 450 cable-way installations. However, the white of the slopes is provided by snow guns. Certainly, Alta Badia is directly connected to the famous Sella Ronda circuit. Thanks to its ideal location, this is the starting point for numerous “ski shifts”. On the other hand, for the little ones or inexperienced, Alta Badia also offers ski schools as well as a fun park. Winter activities in Corvara
Firstly, Cross-country skiing offers a 38 km of perfectly prepared tracks within a dreamlike winter landscape. For example, you can enjoy marvellous excursions through idyllic snow-covered woods and meadows, with breathtaking views of the Dolomites.
Snowshoeing can be a good option for you to discover Alta Badia’s magic winter. You can easily unwind on 80 km of paths through marvellous woods and meadows covered in snow! Horse pulled sledge can be a romantic ride. Certainly, in this way you can discover all the winter charm of the Dolomites in a very special way.

Beginners skiing in Corvara can be enjoyed in Colfosco. Above all, here you have some of the most impressive mountain scenery. It is a great wide open area with lots of long blue runs perfect for finding your ski legs.
Intermediates are spoilt in the Alta Badia ski area. The Boe gondola connects all the main pistes leading to the Sella Ronda circuit. And, it has a large selection of good long red runs as well as some challenging steep runs found at the top of the Portavescovo in Arabba. Don’t forget about the Costorata red rout which takes you through the Passo Campolungo.
On the other hand, for advanced skiers, the Sella Ronda is a must. The famous Col Pradat black run which takes you to the Sassongher Mountain is a challenge for most and a great experience. Skating can also be a good option for winter.
Summer activities in Corvara
The Colfosco adventure park has been created within a charming larch forest and requires courage, balance and energy. Firstly, 71 platforms and more than 600 m of tracks will challenge even the bravest among you. Secondly, this is an adventure for the whole family, with various types of tracks designed for all!
