Introduction to Fuerteventura and Caleta de Fuste
Fuerteventura is an island in the Canary Islands Archipelago from the Atlantic Ocean. Firstly, it is known from ancient times as the Island of the Blessed. Secondly, the island is indeed a place of leisure and laziness, endless beaches and golden sand. Therefore, Fuerteventura is the second largest island in the Canary Islands and a tourist paradise.
The island is perfect for families and couples looking for a relaxing holiday. Above all it has the longest beach in the archipelago, a sunbathing paradise and facilities for water sports. It has over 150 beaches stretching over 340 km of coastline. The crystal clear waters of the sea are ideal for sailing, water skiing, surfing and fishing. Moreover, due to the crevices, caves and tunnels formed at the bottom of the ocean, Fuerteventura also has ideal diving sites.
Known also as El Castillo, Caleta de Fuste was created in a very central location on the east coast of Fuerteventura. The well sheltered beaches together with the large hotel complexes make this region very popular with families with children. The entire town is set up to meet the needs of the tourists. However, here you will not find an old town or any historic buildings other than an old fortified tower near the harbour. Instead you have a wide choice of restaurants and leisure activities.
