Roika Tarangire Tented Lodge from Tarangire National Park is surrounded by a unique flora and fauna of schrublands and acacia woodlands with hearty baobab trees strewn around. Welcome to the birds’ paradise of over 500 bird species. Roika Tarangire Tented Lodge is situated roughly 125km from Arusha town and is ideally accessible by Dodoma Road although it can also be reached by air since there is an airstrip just nearby in the Park.The lodge lies nestled on the banks of Tarangire River and a mere 5km away from the main entrance to Tarangire National Park. The lodge is also within driving.

GENERAL INFORMATION AND FACILITIES
DSTV channels are available on our big flat screen television with free Wi-Fi to keep you posted with happenings around the world. Our main source of electricity is a stand by 100KW diesel generator and solar panels, our system supports 220 – 240 volts. Our primary socket types are (British: BS-1363 amps. & Indian: BS-5465 amps) and these sockets can serve multi-voltage appliances like laptops, hair driers, curling irons with the aid of plug adaptors and voltage converters.
ACCOMMODATION AND ROOM FACILITIES
There are 21 en-suite tents on wooden decked platforms with a unique theme, beautifully hand – crafted furniture and uniquely built animal shaped baths as well as hot water head showers.
Every tent (double, triple or quadruple) has a beautiful view with a private balcony, coffee making facilities, mosquito – net fitted king size beds, a safe box and a study table, plus air conditioning fun, hair driers and a baby bed on request.
Tents for the mobility challenged guests are also available. Family tents with a capacity for up to 8 persons are also available and concierge service for valuables is available at our reception desk on request.

At Roika Tarangire Tented Lodge, you may relax and soak up the African sunshine inside our swimming pool as you enjoy a refreshing cocktail from our poolside bar; after a hot dusty safari.
At Roika Tarangire Tented Lodge, you are welcome to a unique and special Maasai Boma from where guests are entertained to a pulsating Maasai dance as they devour tantalizing barbeques under a starlit sky next to a roaring African bonfire.
GIFT SHOP: At Roika Tarangire Tented Lodge, you will surely marvel and at least secure from the gift shop; a variety of interesting goodies which include the locally made Maasai jewelry, artifacts, great books on the history of Tarangire National Park, its environs, Tanzania and Africa.
INTERNET CAFÉ: At Roika Tarangire Tented Lodge, you can still keep in touch with happenings far a field via the internet from our internet café that is just in close vicinity to our curio shop.
CONFERENCE HALL: At Roika Tarangire Tented Lodge, it is not just about the holiday maker but the business traveler as well; because we have got a conference hall that can always be set up for workshops, seminars and / or business exchange sessions with readily available secretarial services to boot.
GAMES ROOM: At Roika Tarangire Tented Lodge, you are afforded an easy chance to while away your time by participating in the game of POOL, DARTS, CARDS, CHESS etc from our coveted games room.
RECREATION
SUN DOWNER: In order to marvel at the eye-catching sunset, there is a special view point in the bush that is only a stone’s throw away from the lodge; right on the edge of Tarangire River. This experience is made whole by a photo session, a sip of wine, your choice of soft drinks or even beer; under the watchful eye of our armed Maasai guards. Our sun downer activity takes between thirty minutes to one hour and our guests are at liberty to visit the view point either by foot or from inside a vehicle.
NATURE WALKS: This activity affords the participant an opportunity to get to see, hear about and have a feeling of things that can hardly be sampled in the course of game driving. Nature walks commence at six o’clock in the morning under the guidance of our knowledgeable and experienced Maasai guides. The walk will take you to the neighbouring Maasai homes where you will be treated to a short session of Maasai dances, learn a bit about the Maasai culture and also sample a variety of Maasai bead work, jewellery as well as other artefacts. In the nature walk, you will get to learn about some of the community initiatives that Roika Tarangire Tented Lodge is involved in; as part of our contribution towards eco-tourism. Not to be left out is the fact that our nature walk will always leave you with valuable botanical knowledge as it were to ancient Africa and to the world of medicine today.
BUSHMEALS, BARBEQUES and MAASAI DANCE: On a calm day and depending on the period of the month, this is a pleasurable buffeting experience under a Boabab tree in the bush, or from inside our Maasai Boma in the warmth of a roaring African bonfire under a starlit sky. Here, you will come face to face with our professional chef and his team of qualified cooks in taste-bud-tickling international and local cuisines. You also get an opportunity to devour a variety of barbeques besides being allowed a chance to place a special order that gets prepared as you watch or one that gets prepared by yourself.
