WELCOME TO Che Che Vule Villa in KIGOMANI, ZANZIBAR
The archipelago of Zanzibar consists of a series of small tropical islands off the coast of Tanzania in the southern waters of the Indian Ocean. The capital of Zanzibar is ‘the’ Stone Town. Zanzibar archipelago consists of two main islands – Unguja (commonly known simply as ‘Zanzibar’) and Pemba. The origin of the name is thought to have Persian or Arabic origin. In Persian the name is believed to have derived from the words ‘Zangh Bar’, meaning ‘the Negro Coast’. In Arabic the name is thought to come from the words ‘Zayn Z’al Barr’, meaning ‘Fair Is This Land’. There are beautiful beaches in Zanzibar – the beach locations include Nungwi and Kendwa [northern tip of Unguja], Matemwe [mid-south east], Kiwengwa [eastern coast], Paje and Uroa. There a lot of activities in Zanzibar as mentioned here Stone Town, Spice Tours, Jozani forest, Dolphin Tour, Safari Blue etc.

Che Che Vule is only a 20 minute boat ride from Mnemba Island. Its surrounding atoll is world famous for its great dive sites and snorkelling. On a good day guests can spot migrating humpback whales during July-September and whale sharks from November-January. Sea turtles, mostly green turtles and hawksbare are around all year and so are playful dolphins that are known for putting on a good show.
REEF WALK
The Matemwe beach like all beaches around Zanzibar is tidal and at full moon the difference between low and high can reach up to 4 metres. During low tide one can walk all the way to the reef and it is especially interesting at night time. You can see lion fish, colourful snails, baby octopus and eels, shrimp and many more. One of our night watchmen would be delighted to escort you. Kindly give us advance notice and if this will be on your program please bring along a good torch and reef shoes (booties). A stretch up the beach and you find the age old way of seaweed farming which accounts for a large portion of export income.
DIVING with ONE OCEAN “The Zanzibar Dive Center”
Our guests are being picked up on the beach in front of the villa by ONE OCEAN, a professional PADI dive company. There are several excellent dive spots around the Mnemba atoll and for the ones that have never been diving before they can also do all dive courses offered by PADI.
SNORKELING
Mnemba atoll is renowned for its picture-perfect underwater scenery. We have a few local captains from the nearby village who will take you to Mnemba in a traditional Zanzibari dhow equipped with outboard engines, life jackets and a sun roof. Our cook will provide a lunch box if you plan to stay out for a full day which is great for swimming in the crystal clear water, sun bathing and enjoying a picnic.
SAILING
Matemwe village is famous for its big fleet of Ngalawas (dug outs with an outrigger and a sail) used by the local fishermen. Sailing in one of those boats is a unique experience and we can happily arrange a trip for you. The boat comes with a captain and one additional crew member.
FISHING
If you want to go for the big ones like sail fish, dorado, king fish, marlin and tuna we can arrange a half hour transfer to Nungwi up North where you can fish in the Pemba channel on a fully equipped professional deep sea fishing boat. For more information please visit the web-site www.fishinginzanzibar.com
KITE SURFING
Kite boarding is one of the most exciting water sports there is. Here in paradise you can try this in the best way: shallow water, long beaches, good equipment and friendly experienced instructors. For more info please visit the web-site www.kitecentrezanzibar.com
MBARAKA AQUARIUM
Enjoy a half day excursion to the Aquarium especially for families with kids. It’s a natural sea water pool with plenty of sea turtles and fish in all sizes. Take a mask and flippers with you and enjoy close contact with these gentle giants (a green turtle can grow over 100 Kg) which you can also feed with sea weeds.

A High or Standard season is usually between June and March when you can expect Zanzibar to be very popular among worldwide tourists.
